Mark Antony, 44-30 BC. Denarius (Silver, 17 mm, 3.80 g, 6 h), military mint moving with Mark Antony (Patrae?), 32-31. ANT AVG - III VIR•R•P•C• Galley right, with scepter tied with fillet on prow. Rev. LEG - III Aquila between two signa. Babelon (Antonia) 106. Crawford 544/15. CRI 350. RBW 1839. Sydenham 1217. Sharply struck, nicely toned and very well centered, an exceptional example. Light die wear on the obverse, otherwise, extremely fine.

Two legions are referenced as one on the reverse of this coin, namely Legio III Gallica, created by Caesar in 49-48 BC, which is known to have served with Mark Antony, and Legio III Cyrenaica, raised by Antony himself.
